A tactile identity, shaped between paper and stone.
Ibex, a book publisher, needed a sonic intro to sit across YouTube content and audiobooks — minimal in form, but able to follow a detailed, fast-moving logo animation.
The sound design is built on two opposing materials: paper and rock. Page movements drive transitions and rhythm, while deeper, earthy textures reflect the goat at the core of the brand. The structure stays tight to the animation, allowing clarity even through complexity.
Page flips were recorded in-studio using close-mic techniques on Ibex’s own books — a small detail that made a surprisingly big difference, bringing a direct, physical quality to the sound. Subtle musical accents soften the palette, while the final movement introduces a slight temporal elasticity — a controlled release that gives the logo its sense of closure.
A moving mark, grounded in material.
